For B.A.(Hons.) in Bengali program, the entry level is a Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC), A level or Alim or any other equivalent level of education recognized by the competent authority and also fulfilling any other conditions fixed by the authority.

For M.A. in Bengali program , the entry requirement is at least a B.A.(pass) degree or any other equivalent level of education recognized by the competent authority.

Admission into B.A.(Hons.) in Bengali and M.A. in Bengali program is on a competitive basis. Aplicants will be required to sit for an admission test designated to judge their abilities and aptitude for the program. Candidates are selected for admission on the basis of past academic records, a written test and a viva examination.
